ABOUT JAMESTOWN

Jamestown is located on the Highway 108/49 corridor and is the first place gold was discovered in Tuolumne County. Main Street features historic inns, restaurants, shops, wine tasting rooms, a cigar bar, and a micro brewery. Several of the town's buildings date back to the 1870s and 1880s. Jamestown is also the home to Railtown 1897 State Historic Park where you can take a ride on a historic steam or diesel locomotive through the Gold Country.

Scenes from many movies and TV shows were filmed in and around Jamestown, including but not limited to Back to the Future Part III, Hidalgo (2004), Petticoat Junction, The Wild Wild West, Green Acres, and Little House on the Prairie.
